Get on down to the levee for the third annual cabaret at the Old Stone Church in Chester on October 23 and 24. Doors open at 7 p.m. for a glimpse of the more than 30 items in a silent auction and a chance to bid on these fine gifts donated by area businesses. The show starts at 7:30.
A Riverboat Cabaret is this year's theme with songs from the post Civil War era, the Gay Nineties, and the beginnings of the 20th century. Sam Lloyd will be performing the sequel to "Albert and the Lion," revealing the aftermath of Albert's mother's conclusion about his disappearance at the zoo.
Cast members will sing and dance to the music of Stephen Foster and perform scenes from Gilbert and Sullivan. There will also be a return of George and Gracie, portrayed by Barbara Lloyd and Molly Ferris.
The show, directed by Stephanie Rowe, also features Linda Burns of Perkinsville, Sara Norcross and Kathy Duhamel of Reading, Pam Church and Maricel Lucero of Springfield, Linda Dunworth of Ludlow, Marilyn Mason of Andover and Laura Driver, Kirsten Kouwenhoven, and Steve and Paul Chipman of Chester.
Tickets are $12 per person or $25 per family.
