TICONDEROGA Girl Scouts in Ticonderoga is looking for leaders and adult volunteers. Girl Scouts wants to make it possible for every girl who wants to join to have the opportunity to do so. Adult volunteers are crucial in making this happen. In Girls Scouts, girls have fun, make new friends and learn more about themselves and their role in the world. Volunteering for Girl Scouts is the chance for adults to do the same. Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York serves 14,500 girls with over 6,500 adult volunteers serving 16 counties. Girl Scouts of the USA is the largest organization for girls in the world, is open to all girls ages 5-17 (or in kindergarten through grade 12). There are many volunteer opportunities such as being a troop leader, assistant leader, troop helper, first aiders for special events, and trainer of volunteers. For information call Debbie Barber, Ticonderoga Service Unit Manager, at 585-6876 or the Girls Scouts of Northeastern New York at 563-1560.
