TICONDEROGA - The Ticonderoga Knights of Columbus Council #333 distributed fruit baskets on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The baskets were delivered to widows of deceased members, the clergy and members in poor health.
This year the Knights had an additional challenge in dealing with Mother Nature. They had fewer members available and over a foot of snow cover to maneuver through.
The nine Knights who were available got a late start after moving snow from at their own homes but it did give recipients time to have their yards cleared.
Despite the bitter cold and snowy conditions 60 fruit baskets were delivered by early afternoon.
Once again the Knights were welcomed with smiling faces and words of gratitude. One member said he even received a kiss on the cheek.
Following the deliveries, the Knights enjoyed hamburgers and fries cooked up by chef Joe Carroll.
