Ticonderoga used a smothering defense to crush AuSable Valley, 37-14, in Northern Football Conference action Sept. 28.
The Sentinel defense held AVCS to 21 yards in the first half as the Ti offense took control of the contest.
Ticonderoga got the board first on a 28-yard TD pass from Anthony Barnao to Matt Streeter. Streeter then booted the PAT.
Krys Ross added a 2-yard scoring run and Streeter again nailed the point after as Ti led, 14-0, after one period.
Steve Lenharts 13-yard burst and another short TD by Ross made it 28-0 as Streeter kicked two more PATs.
Streeter then closed out the first half for the Sentinels, kicking a 28-yard field goal for a 31-0 advantage.
Ross tallied again, this time on a 27-yard run, as Ti stretched its lead to 37-0 early in the third period.
Ross finished with 81 yards rushing for the Sentinels.
Barnao completed just three passes for Ti, but they went for 110 yards and a score.
Tupper Lake 28, Moriah 17
Tupper Lake rallied in the final quarter to beat Moriah, 28-17, in Northern Football Conference action Sept. 29.
The win kept Tupper Lake undefeated. It was Moriahs first loss of the campaign.
Moriah led, 10-7 in the fourth quarter before Tupper got its offense going.
Logan Klossner ran for 208 yards and a pair of TDs for the Lumberjacks.
After Klossner had given Tupper a 7-0 lead, Moriah got a TD from Keith Karkoski on a 6-yard run. Mike Brassard booted the extra point for a 7-7 tie and added a 34-yard field goal just before half for a 10-7 Moriah lead.
After a scoreless third period, Tupper grabbed the lead in the final period when defensive end Tom Coady ripped the ball from Moriah quarterback Tyler Blaise and ran 41 yards the other way for a TD.
On Moriahs next play, Tuppers Brian Bennett intercepted a pass and returned to the 1-yard line. Bob Lawyer scored from there and Tupper was up 21-10.
Moriah answered with a long drive, capped by Steve Owens 1-yard TD run to make the score 21-17.
Klossner iced the game, though, breaking free for a 59-yard scoring run.
The game was scheduled to be played Friday, but severe weather forced postponement until the following day.
