Ticonderoga routed Seton Catholic, 56-34, to win the Section VII Class C girls basketball tournament championship March 6 at SUNY-Plattsburgh.
The Sentinels raced to a big lead and coasted to the title and a berth in the state tournament.
Ti led 9-2 after a few minutes and stretched its advantage to 29-13 by halftime. It then opened the second half with a 12-2 run to take a commanding 41-15 lead.
Sam Diehl scored 26 points, hitting five three-pointers, to pace the locals.
Julie Thompson scored 10 points for the Sentinels.
Jamie Patchett added eight points, all in the first half as Ti built its lead, and Carly Tubbs tallied six for Ticonderoga.
Ti and Seton had split a pair f close games during the regular season.
