TICONDEROGA-The Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union has announced the appointment of Daniel J. Silvey as chief financial officer.
"I am pleased to have someone with Dan's education, skills and experience join our senior executive management team." said Shawn Hayes, TFCU's president and CEO. "I look forward to the contributions he will make to the team and the credit union as we enter this new phase of our growth."
Silvey holds both a bachelor's of science in public accounting and a masters in business administration in finance. He has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance. Silvey is also a level-3 EMT and treasurer of the board of West Glens Falls Emergency Squad, Inc. He has taught college level courses for both SUNY Plattsburgh and Adirondack Community College.
"Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union has a very friendly staff, that is family oriented and community focused. It's a fun place to work, and I'm happy to be part of this team," said Silvey.
A not-for-profit cooperative offering comprehensive deposit and lending services to its members, TFCU operates its main office in Ticonderoga, where it was chartered in 1954 as the International Paper Ticonderoga mill's employee credit union. Since then, it has amended its charter twice, and now offers membership to people who live, work, worship or attend school in, or businesses or legal entities located in Essex County, Washington County or the towns of Hague, Horicon and Chester.
The TFCU opened its first branch in March of 2007 in Port Henry and its second branch in Elizabethtown in November of 2008.
