Last Saturday, in Middlebury, Ryan Payne and A.J. Hamel scored a pair of goals each to propel the Hartford Hurricanes to a 5-1 victory over the hometown Tigers in boys high school action. Cody Vose added a goal and a pair of assists to the win. Hartford goalie Nate Potter stopped 26 shots for the Hurricanes, who finish the regular season at 18-1-1.
Dylan Newton scored the lone Middlebury goal and Craig Camara made 28 saves for the Tigers, who finish at 12-5-3.
In high school girls action last Saturday Burlington's Lauren Todisco scored two goals and provided an assist in the Seahorses 6-3 road win over the Middlebury Tigers. Rowan Hayes, Elise Bishop-Rimmer, Samantha Healey and Lauren Peacock also scored for Burlington, while their goalie Eileen Gomez made 19 saves. Ashley Howlett made 34 saves in the net for the Tigers. Grace Foshay Casey O'Donohue and Megan Wade scored single goals for Middlebury, who finish the regular season with a 2-18 record. Burlington, with the three goal win, finishes at 7-13.
