Last year, approximately 3,000 more Vermonters paid too much for their housing and become "cost burdened", according to a new report. The report, titled "Between a Rock and a Hard Place", tracked housing costs and wages in 2009.
The report was written and researched by Vermont Housing Finance Agency.
The report notes much of the drop in home prices was off-set by higher fees, down payment requirements and rates for moderate credit scores. Also, rental prices have held steady in spite of increasing vacancies.
