The Plattsburgh CROP Walk was held Oct. 4, with hundreds turning out in support of the event. The walk, which started from the United Methodist Church, annually raises donations for Church World Service, an international organization that provides assistance to refugees and victims of natural disasters in underdeveloped countries. Twenty-five percent of the money raised, however, stays in the North Country benefitting local food pantries. According to initial tallies, this year's walk raised more than $8,000.
