Jags squeak by Eagles
NORTH CREEK - The Jag bats came alive Wednesday, May 13 as they beat the Bolton Eagles 9-8 in MVAC baseball action.
Andrew Sherrick's three-run blast in the second gave the Jags the lead in the second. But the game was back and forth throughout.
Dalton Ordway added a solo home run in the fourth.
Johnsburg pitcher Josh Harvey struck out 16 Eagles.
With the contest tied headed into the seventh, Kevin Conner roped a RBI single securing the victory.
Minerva\Newcomb handles Westport
OLMSTEDVILLE - Mountaineer pitcher Sam Kelly struck out eight and secured a 5-4 complete game victory over Westport May 13.
Minerva-Newcomb jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the second and held on for the win.
Kevin Yandon's fourth inning RBI single proved to be the winning hit.
Orange silence critics, whip Crown Point
CROWN POINT - Only a week removed from being delisted from the New York State Class D top 10, undefeated Indian Lake-Long Lake dominated state ranked Crown Point and put to rest any doubt as to who is the dominate MVAC baseball team this season.
Alex Smith threw nine strikeouts and hit a solo home run for Indian Lake/Long Lake in the Orange's 7-1 victory over.
The highly touted Crown Point Panthers only had two hits off Smith who held them scoreless until the seventh inning.

KEENE VALLEY - Only days after defeating their league rivals the Indian Lake/Long Lake Orange lost a back and forth contest to the Crown Point Panthers 10-9 in the MVAC baseball division championship Saturday, May 16.
Both teams surrendered leads throughout and eventually Crown Point overcame with a late inning rally.
For the first time this season, batters got to Orange ace Alex Smith as he allowed three runs and six hits in four innings.
Jordan Wallace had two hits, including a third-inning homer, for Indian Lake/Long Lake. Tom King and Dave Andrews each slugged a pair of doubles while Jordan Monthony contributed two hits and Jeff Reynolds knocked in three RBIs.
Lady Mountaineers have bats silenced against Crown Point
CROWN POINT - Minerva-Newcomb fell 13-0 to Crown Point May 12 in MVAC softball action.
Panther pitching didn't allow a base runner until the seventh inning.
Minerva\Newcomb pitcher Laura Tokarz went the distance, striking out eight.
Lady Jags lose to Bolton
NORTH CREEK - The Lady Jags surrendered 14 hits to the Eagles as they were defeated 15-5 in MVAC softball action May 11.
Nicole Wardwell and Margaret Welz hit 2-for-3 at the plate for Johnsburg. But six errors in the field surely hurt their efforts.
Lady Panthers upend Orange
CROWN POINT - Kaylie Miller held Crown Point to seven hits while striking out eight and walking just two May 18, but Indian Lake/Long Lake fell to the lady Panthers 5-0 in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference softball action May 18.
Lindsay Brace allowed just two hits and struck out 18 for Crown Point who put the finishing touches on an undefeated season with the win.
