The Westminster Cares, Inc. Board of Directors met on Jan. 6. Westminster Cares creates opportunities for seniors and disabled adults to live with independence and dignity in the community. Your support to this care-giving organization is a way for all of us to take care of our elders.
The Programs and Services committee has been discussing the programs they offer and looking at the possibility of beginning new ones. At a future date a workshop will be scheduled for preparing healthy food.
Westminster Cares wishes to thank the residents who donated Christmas cookies in tins, hams and eggs during the holiday season. These were given to the recipients of the meals-on-wheels program and homebound residents.
In December, Westminster Cares began their Annual Fundraising Appeal. Contributions enable us to continue providing many needed services including delivering Meals-On-Wheels, Living Strong classes, providing rides for medical appointments, visiting with homebound residents, and to provide various activities and healthy workshops.
Services Provided Include: Meals-on-Wheels to 13 people; 10 rides for five different people by four volunteers for a total of 150 miles; two pieces of medical equipment were loaned out; and volunteers visited three people.
