WEVERTOWN The new well at the Wevertown Community Center is in and as of last Thursday was just awaiting state Department of Health final approval, town officials reported. The well is in, the water is hooked up and were just awaiting final DOH testing and certification, Supervisor Bill Thomas said. The new well is 200 feet deep and yielding a 5 gallon per minute output, Thomas said. The decision for a new well came after repeated problems with the old well, which was too shallow to provide consistently for the needs of the building. The well project was finished just in time for a dinner held at the Community Center at which 263 people were served. Everything tasted great, said Bob Nessle. It was worth it, Thomas added. The well joins other improvements to the exterior of the Wevertown Community Center including paving of the parking lot.
