CROWN POINT - Women, Infant and Children clinics will be held locally during the month of May.
Clinics will be held at the:
Ticonderoga Methodist Church Monday, May 4, 2 to 6, and Mondays, May 11 and 18, 9:30 to 2;
Moriah fire house Tuesday, May 12, 9:30 to 2;
-Schroon Lake Health Center Wednesday, May 13, 9:30 to 2;
- Port Henry Knights of Columbus Thursday, May 14, 9:30 to 2; and
- Crown Point fire house Wednesday, May 20, 9:30 to 2.
WIC will now be offering whole grain breads, rice and tofu as well as baby foods including vegetables, fruits, and meats in addition to milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice, and peanut butter to pregnant and breastfeeding women and children.
WIC also provides vegetables and fruits to participants over 1 year old.
WIC encourages breastfeeding but for those infants who are not breastfed, infant formula is provided. A nurse and nutritionist are on site to provide counseling, assessment, education and referrals.
Income guidelines have increased. Monthly gross income eligibility for a family of four must be less than $3,400. For each additional family member add $577.
