PLATTSBURGH - The Clinton County Health Department has announced the schedule for the remaining Clinton County's Women Infant and Children Program (WIC) clinics during the month of January.
Locations include Altona Town Hall, 77 Station St., Altona, Tuesday, Jan. 20; and Beekmantown Town Hall, 571 Spellman Road, West Chazy, Thursday, Jan. 22. Clinics will also be held at the Health Department, located at 133 Margaret St., Plattsburgh, Jan. 14, 15, 16, 21, 23, and Jan. 26-30.
WIC provides milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice and peanut butter to pregnant and breastfeeding women and children. Fruit and vegetable vouchers are available to participants older than the age of 2. WIC encourages breastfeeding, but for those infants who are not breastfed, infant formula is provided. Nutritionists are available at each clinic site to provide counseling, assessment, education and referrals.
Appointments are necessary and available by calling the Health Department at 565-4830. Income eligibility and other program eligibility information is also available by phone.
