The weather is still unpredictable, another all day snowstorm means the snow piles are way back up. The good side of this is our schools were on winter break this last week. I saw several children on top of large snow piles in their yard - being king of the hill. Life does not slow down even with a lot of snow. The Heritage Society hosted a very interesting Sunday Afternoon lecture on the "Journey to Freedom"; the story of the Underground Railroad" here in the North Country which assisted many slaves gaining their freedom. Don Papson is so knowledgeable on this subject it was a very enjoyable afternoon. The New Beginnings group had 14 come out to enjoy a meal together at Rick's place. The Friday before the school vacation the music Department hosted a special drumming group; three or four guest drummers had a whole stage full of several kinds of drums. Then the children and adults were brought up and encouraged them to play - loud but they seemed to be having fun.
It was a pleasure to learn that Morris MacDougal is now back home after a long hospital stay. His music buddy, Jack Williams is also back in the hospital in New York City under going some serious heart surgery. Peter Johnpeer will also be going down to New York City soon for some heart surgery. We wish them all full recovery in the days ahead. Tina and Jim Hotaling recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. It is almost a sold out crowd coming to the Willsboro Methodist Church Dinner Theater on March 19 and 26. They will be serving a Meat Loaf meal and then the performance called "March Madness" all for $10 each. If you want a place reserved you should call soon to Janice Allen 963 8912.
