WILLSBORO-Willsboro is looking to promote the town through publication and signage.
The town board brought up two different topics for promotion at its June 13 regular meeting, including a brochure to promote the town's recreational locations.
"We need to advertise who we are," Janice Allen, who directs the visitor's center, said. "We need to give them something that we can put in their hands that tells people who we are and what we have to offer."
Councilman Charlie Lustig said that if the town were to print and distribute a brochure, he would want to make sure that it was focused on tourism sites and destinations within the town.
"We need to get this down to a tourist-type brochure rather than a chamber of commerce piece," Lustig said.
"If we want to promote tourism, that is one thing," town Supervisor Ed Hatch said. "To do more is different."
The town also talked about replacing the road signs welcoming commuters into the town of Willsboro, which they have received donations for acquiring totaling around $3,500 with a request for the town to add $1,500 to the pot.
"We are doing an audit right now so we will have a much more clearer picture of what we have once that is done," Hatch said.
