Our NCS international students will help us understand the cultural, social, political, economic, and religious life of their native lands as they participate in this interview style discussion. Facilitator: Dr. Roy H. Ginsberg, Professor of Government at Skidmore College.
Newcomb friends far and near past and present
Mr. & Mrs. Gregson are back from a trip to California to see their relatives. It took them 3 days to drive over and 5 days to drive back because they stopped to see the Grand Canyon. Their daughter Rebecca (Becky) Gregson got married to her long time boyfriend in Newcomb. They will live in Olmstedville and are expecting.
Normalea (Stanley) Balch of Minerva died at 77. She was sister to Shirley Armstrong. They graduated from N.C.S. Hadn't seen her since school and didn't know she was living so close by. Shirley and Jim graduated in 1953. Normalea should have graduated about 1954 but couldn't find her in the yearbook.
There was a brownie souvenir post card photo of 15 kids that attended the district school across from Larry Levesque in 1910. There was also a list of names but no clue as to who was who. Some kids were matched with their names after years of research and now after long distance collaboration with Leo Duval of Florida who had the same photo with 4 kids identified , I'm glad to report that all 15 have been identified.
Was finally told the fate of the two men who broke into Bissell's Store. One was sentenced to 10 years in the slammer because he had done other bad things. The other man got only three years in jail. To think that if he had only gotten a job instead of stealing coins, he would be a lot further ahead! Crime doesn't pay - a salary.
Just to let you know, Brie had her triplets on Nov.12, 2008. All weighed almost 4 lbs. and experienced no problems after birth. They had to stay in the NICU for almost 3 weeks so they could grow but all 3 went home on Dec. 2. I was in MT. when they were born and am going back down there right after Christmas for 3 wks. Their names are Evalyn, Lillian, and Patrick and are just the cutest babes. The girls are identical twins. If anyone wants Brie's address, they can e-mail me at:firstname.lastname@example.org and I will send it to them.
