GLENS FALLS - The Glens Falls Family YMCA is gearing up for their 110th season of summer camp.
Beginning June 22 traditional day camps as well as gymnastics, performing arts and a variety of sports and specialty camps will be offered over 10 one-week sessions.
"We have camps available for children as young as 3 years old through age 17," said YMCA Camp Director, Zack Mazza. "Considering the variety of camp programs we offer there is a choice for almost every child."
No two weeks are ever the same at camp with weekly themes and special events like the camp talent show "Chepontuc Idol" or the Wild Animal Costume Parade.
Camp Chepontuc, which is the day camp for 6-14 year-olds, will be going on a number of field trips throughout the summer including the Great Escape, Million Dollar Beach and the Tree Paad. Most Chepontuc campers will be eligible (age dependent) to attend special field trips to The Bronx Zoo, Lake Placid and AuSable Chasm for an additional fee, but space is limited.
The Glens Falls Family YMCA camps are licensed and inspected annually by the New York State Department of Health.
Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. The YMCA will not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay the program fees.
Registration is under way and space is limited.
