MIDDLEBURY Addison County Chamber of Commerce officials welcomed Dinky Donuts to Middlebury. Formerly located in Burlington, Dinky Donuts opened for business recently in the Little Schoolhouse on Route 7, south of Middlebury. Nick and Alex Cavalli founded Dinky Donuts in early 2008 after working in several fine dining establishments in New York City and Vermont. Both are graduates of the French Culinary Institute in New York City. According to Alex, After working in Vermont at Penny Cluse Caf鬠Smokejacks and Christophes, we decided that it was time for us to try to make our own mark on the Vermont food scene. After bouncing around countless ideas, we came up with donuts. Were both donut lovers and there was no good place in the area to get them. As the business grew, Dinky Donuts needed a new home. We found the perfect fit at the early 1900s-era schoolhouse in Middlebury... (We are) serving our delicious donuts, coffee, breakfast sandwiches and other home style treats, Alex said.
