PHS student Libby Marcy with her Downtown Cuts’ storefront art in Poultney.
Poultney High School has some talented student artists and several local businesses are lining up to make use of their skills.
For example, Denise, owner of Downtown Cuts a new hair salon that opened on Main Street recently, asked PHS art teacher Melissa Kristiansen if she knew of any artists who might be able to transform her front shop window.
The first student to take up the challenge is Libby Marcy, a freshman at PHS. Denise was so thrilled with the result that she plans for other young PHS artists to add their inspiration to the window on a rotating basis. Other business owners in town have also expressed interest in putting the artists to work.
