Gore Mountain’s annual Fireworks Display & Torchlight Parade is scheduled for Sunday night at dusk. It should provide an ideal setting for the holiday weekend and this week’s winter storms. A 50-skier torch parade will precede the fireworks, and live entertainment will follow until 8 p.m. in the Tannery Pub.
Other happenings include the debut of Gore Mountain’s complimentary carve course on Saturday, a halfpipejam awarding season passes on Monday at 1 p.m. at the North Creek Ski Bowl, a two-day Kids Klub Holiday Camp starting Saturday, and the kickoff of “Take Your Daughter to Gore Week” on Tuesday, Jan. 17. During this family promotion, daughters 19 and under ski, ride, and tube free with full-paid parent through Sunday, Jan. 22.
Despite challenging weather during December and early January, Gore Mountain has opened 14 miles of terrain, four freestyle areas including a halfpipe, its tubing park, and terrain ranging from double-diamond expert to gentle first-timer slopes. Guests can expect available terrain to grow over the holiday weekend, including the opening of Fairview and Twister. The Uncas trail opened earlier this week.
