PORT HENRY Dozens of children experienced an early Christmas when the Toys for Tots Train arrived Dec. 9. Sponsored by the Canadian Pacific Railway and the U.S. Marine Reserves of Fox Company, 2nd Battalion 25th Marine Corp of Albany the train made stops in Ticonderoga and Port Henry. Marines in uniform, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their elves distributed toys to the children The Toys for Tots Train has been delivering toys as well as hats and mittens for less fortunate children since 1999. In its first eight years almost 50,000 toys were distributed. The Albany Marine Corps Reserves unit collects the donations of toys from people in the Albany area. This year the train stopped at 12 locations.
