Throughout the winter when I look out and see the covering of beautiful white snow, it brings back memories of High School Days, as students we knew when Mrs. Florence Banta came into the room and focused out the window at the scene below, she would recite her contagious delight of one of her favorite poems "the snow in the glomming" and unfurl those beautiful words upon our ears.
In the winter months many of our local pastor's take some vacation time; our congregations are most appreciative that we have some very capable and willing laity that will come forward and conduct the regular services.
There will be an exciting special worship this Sunday at the Willsboro Methodist Church. This will feature a group of adults and youth from the Keeseville & Harkness churches they will conduct the whole service with music. The group calls themselves "Psalm's 33"; this will be a combined service with Willsboro & Reber at 9 a.m. all interested persons are welcome.
We are still seeking a good size room to house the loan able medical equipment. It really needs to be moved by the end of January, call Janice Allen if you have an offer or suggestion to explore. I also need to correct an item placed in my column recently about collecting bottle tops to assist a person in getting a free dialysis treatment with the collection of 1,000 tops, these need to be from water or soda bottles, they do not want medicine bottle tops (sorry for the mistake).
Congratulations to Steve Benway & daughter Jackie who recently ran in the Disney Marathon down in Florida. We are happy to report that they both completed the in the 27-mile run and finished. This qualifies them to compete in the Boston Marathon. While the family was there with them they took in many of the favorite attractions.
