The town of Peru held its annual tree lighting ceremony, ushering in the Christmas season Dec. 4. During the event, Town Supervisor-elect Peter G. Glushko turned on the lights to the tree as the Back Porch Band led residents in holiday songs from the town gazebo. The ceremony included a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, who arrived on by fire truck with the Peru Volunteer Fire Department. Afterward, Santa took time to meet with children in the fellowship center of Peru Community Church. More photos from the event may be found on our Web site, www.clinton-today.com.
