Mineville man injured in Hague accident
A Mineville man suffered serious head injuries when he lost control of a motorcycle Sept. 11 on Route 9N in Hague, state police said.
John G. Zerbe, 48, was headed south when he lost control of a motorcycle and rode off the road shortly before 3 p.m. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center.
Teresa Zerbe, 44, was a passenger on the motorcycle and was injured as well.
No tickets were issued.
Ti man sentenced
A Ticonderoga man was sentenced to 25 years in state prison Sept. 16 for repeatedly sexually abusing a child.
Richard Monroe, age 56, will serve 25 years in prison and spend 20 years on parole for repeatedly molesting a girl who was 10 years old when the abuse began. It continued for 14 months, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office.
Monroe was convicted of course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, on July 15, following a trial in Essex County Court. The abuse occurred in Ticonderoga.
Monroe maintained his innocence and plans to appeal the verdict.
In addition to the prison sentence, Essex County Judge Richard Meyer imposed a $30,000 fine.
Ti man charged
A Ticonderoga man is accused of damaging a parked vehicle during the summer.
Shane R. Fuller, 19, was taken into custody Sept. 16 and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, according to Ticonderoga Town Police.
Fuller is accused of causing more than $1,500 worth of damage to a Honda sport-utility vehicle on the evening of Aug. 8.
