I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year. May all of 2013 be much better than this past year. Try to remember many good things about 2012.
Sorry there has not been any Bakers Mills News for the last two weeks. I have been having trouble with my computer. Santa didn’t bring me a new one, so I will have to wait for him again.
Older news but still will say sorry about the family that lost their home to a house fire not long before Christmas. The guy is in a burn unit in Vermont. Glad to know the lady has been able to find a place to rent and a job at the nursing home. Thanks to all that have been helping out. We do live in a great community.
Glad to know that George Dunkley Jr. wasn't hurt bad when hit by a log truck after plowing the driveway of Barbara Ross.
Many Christmas Programs were enjoyed by the communities this Christmas season. Despite the weather, the attendance was good. The young people work hard and always do a great job. We are proud of them. Always encourage our young people.
Community Compassions were able to give gifts to the elderly and help give in many other ways. Thanks for all that make our fundraisers a success
Thanks also to all the ones that work and give from the Outreach Center in our area. Thanks for being there all year long.
Thanks to Keitan Millington for giving me a wood stove when I did a crazy thing by closing the door to hard and breaking the glass in the door. Thanks to Bill, Alonzo and Aaron Conlon and Derek Millington for putting in the stove when the weather was bitter cold and windy.
It was wonderful to see so many lights that decorated homes and businesses in the area to celebrate Christmas. It makes everything come alive. Hope you all enjoyed your family meals and thought of the reason for the season.
We as a community are saddened to hear about the death of Gordie Persons, Mildred Prouty and Clarence “Buddy” Bateman.
Lucy Persons and her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who was there for them during the illness of Gordie and the funeral.
Bobby Austin and Seth Dunkley both are gaining more each day after having surgery at Glens Falls Hospital recently.
Many ladies and a few children enjoyed a great fellowship luncheon before Christmas at the home of Trina Riedinger's.
Ruth Allen was taken to hospital after waking suddenly to her tonsils bleeding. Guess no known reason yet. Ruth was pleased to spend time out for breakfast with her family the day after Christmas for her birthday.
Many have been working hard to clean up everything from the home and land that used to belong to John and Ada Cleveland. No matter the weather, the crew still worked hard.
I want to wish all who recently had a birthday a BIG Happy Birthday. Sorry that I forgot to bring my list when using a friend’s computer. Also, Happy Anniversary to you with a recent anniversary.
Enjoy each and every day.
