I think spring may be arriving. Despite the fact we were to get snow the rain showed up heavy all Saturday night and most of Sunday. Flooding and more bumps in the road appeared. Finally could see a few bases of the trees. maybe the syrup makers will be able to get a quick run of sap to get a taste of new maple syrup. The weather has been cold and snowy that the Maple season is later than most years. Fred Allen and I remember spending so many years at the Sugar house in the evenings trying to nap while we waited for Mom and Dad get done boiling sap for the night. Nothing like the smell of hot sap boiling before coming to syrup. So many folks have gone to the sugar house to taste the hot sap and sign their name on the wall.
The Bakers Mills/Sodom Firehouse is in need of repair after being struck by a passer-by. Glad no one was hurt.
Dad drove to Athol one day last week to go to the garage to have his truck inspected. It was great to have him drive after almost three months but let me drive home.
