Activities really vamped up this past weekend. Graduation went well for the 14 graduates and best of all, for me: I got to watch the whole service in the comfort of my easy chair here at home over my cable station.
It was a great honor to add two more people to the wall of distinction this year. They are Florence Hathaway and Peter Jacques, both very deserving. It was most impressive how much reward money was handed out to the seniors.
Hopeful that all senior parties went off peacefully and our hearts and prayers go out to the two Plattsburgh students families that drowned just prior to the year’s end.
The next day, the Willsboro Alumni Association held their annual Banquet at the V.F.W. in Keeseville with around 135-or-so attending. It is always great to reconnect with former classmates. The 50th year class Anniversary group are honored at the Banquet and they had a very impressive turn out. They also got together on Friday at Johnny’s Restaraunt.
It was wonderful to have some time with Florance Hathaway and two sons and a daughter in law over this last weekend. She was honored for all that she has done in this community pver the years; she looks great and we all enjoyed the time spent with her.
Wow, where does the time go? This weekend is the 4th of July events most being held in Essex and lasting for most of the day. This is always a great time to meet up with many of our summer residents; it is like old home week. Hope you noticed the Brown House Antiques shop is once again open for the summer season. They seem to have some great items outside available for sale, so plan to pay them a visit. All of the local restaurants are once again open for business with some great food choices. The display at the Heritage Museum is also open for the season. The Bowling Center has some interesting events scheduled watch their sign board.
The Essex Community Church will be holding on Wed. July 9th at 7 p.m an update on the future plans for theGirls School in Tanzania, Africa.
Two of the founders Polly Dolan and Tracey Dolan, will be there to share these great plans. This is open to all interested persons.
