Summer is officially here and there are several exciting news items to report.
The Keeseville Free Public Library will have their summer reading program every Monday in July starting Monday, July 7 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. This year’s theme is “Fizz Boom.” Each week. a scientist will explore science in a new way. This program is free and local children are very much encouraged to attend and have fun.
Next up at the library will be the annual art show and sale starting on July 10 and running until August 7. The show is featuring two Adirondack Artists: Gary Bezio, a well-known Adirondack furniture maker, and Lorna Hohn, a painter of Adirondack scenes. The opening reception with receptions for this year’s show will be Thursday, July 10th from 5:30 until 7:30 and again the public is encouraged to attend.
Starting in July, the Library is switching to summer hours Monday from 10:00 until 12:00 noon and then 1:00 until 7:00, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 until 5:00, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 until noon and then 1:00 until 5:00. The library is closed Saturdays and Sundays.
The Keeseville Farmers’ Market is starting up as well with new hours this year. The Market will again be in Riverside Park against the Ausable River behind the shops on Front Street. There will be some new vendors this year. The Farmers’ Market will be 10:00am until 2:00 pm every Wednesday rain or shine. I know from past years that the Market is wonderful with great locally-grown food and artisan crafts at very reasonable prices.
Gofflowers on Church Street opened for the season this past weekend. For those of you who have never visited the shop, it is a cute little stand with gorgeous flowers and some neat gifts. Definitely worth visiting.
Once again, some neat events in Keeseville. My thanks to all those who worked so hard to put these events together for us to enjoy. Thanks!
