To the Editor:
Once in a great while, a political candidate who is a perfect match for the position he seeks arrives on the scene.
Brent Vosburg, candidate for Essex County clerk, is the epitome of that scenario. Brent graduated from Ticonderoga High School then attended Adirondack Community College and later North Carolina State University, majoring in accounting. Mr. Vosburg established a record of integrity and skill at managing finances while employed at several prestigious banking institutions, including First National Bank of Glens Falls, Evergreen Bank, Champlain National Bank and Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union. He also worked for the Essex County government center in Elizabethtown.
If elected, Mr. Vosburg will devote himself to the position of county clerk and Department of Motor Vehicles supervisor. He will not take on other county positions or duties just to increase his pay.
Right now, the current County Clerk attempts to be: Commissioner of Jurors, Commissioner of Youth and community services, DWI Coordinator, Mail room and central supply, Records Management Officer, Stop DWI Director and Traffic Safety Coordinator, Department of Motor Vehicles Supervisor.
The current County Clerk is paid additional stipends not only from the county, but from the state of New York as well! With so many titles and other duties, it's no wonder the office is overstaffed.
It makes the citizens of Essex County wonder who is minding the clerk's office? Conversely, candidate Brent Vosburg promises to be a full-time county clerk!
Vote for Brent Vosburg for Essex County clerk in the November elections.
