We are not hearing the buzz of lawnmowers around the community, as most of our lawns are turning brown for lack of water. We are hopeful that the rain predictions will give assistance soon. It was another busy weekend with the downtown Essex days busy activities; many people came out to enjoy the outing. This summer we have noticed many bikers travailing through our community, this seems to be a popular route. This past weekend we had large number of bikers go through with a motorcycle escort to block intersections for them to travel through safely.
Anyone that might be looking for slightly used treasures might want to check out the selection down at the old Ashline Fruit company site on the summer weekends. They have lots of things to select from at reasonable prices.

I have been once again reminded of the strong loyalty that is handed down from Camp PoKo’s campers over the years. The campers have such a wonderful camping experience when attending as a youth; they tend to send their children here years later. Many of these visiting parents come into our visitor’s center to share their experiences.
