The Ballston Spa boys soccer team rebounded from Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Shenendehowa by edging Columbia 2-1 Wednesday in a Suburban Council game.
After falling behind 1-0, the Scotties (2-1) tied the game on Connor Preece's goal late in the first half. Dylan Prehoda then notched the game winner off a Nick Comiskey pass early in the second half.
Columbia had several chances to tie the game, but Ballston Spa goaltender Evan Mendez made the necessary stops to preserve the lead. Mendez finished with six saves, while Columbia netminder Alex Morrison had four saves.
In other boys soccer action Wednesday, Mekeel (Schenectady) Christian Academy suffered a 1-0 Western Athletic Conference loss to Schoharie. The Indians got their goal in the first half.
