The Chazy Eagles boys varsity soccer team earned its seventh state championship Nov. 17 with a 1-1 draw against Jasper-Troupsburg.
Josh Barriere scored in the middle of the second half to tie the game for the Eagles, and both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the final 20 minutes of the second half or 30 minutes of golden goal overtime.
The NYSPHSAA does not go to penalty kicks after overtime in the state championship game, so both teams were named state champions.
The seventh title gave Chazy head coach Rob McAuliffe the most in New York State boys high school soccer history. For the Eagles, the title ties them for the most all time in state boys soccer history.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth minute of play, the Eagles' Alec LaPierre tied the score in the 56th minute of play before the teams headed to overtime.
