For the third year, the members of the Cobble Hill Ladies Golf League have made a donation to the Community Food Shelf located at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Elizabethtown.
Established several years ago, the ladies play weekly spring through fall. At the end of each season, the ladies make a contribution in support of various causes. In recent years, they have turned their support to local organizations.
The Community Food Shelf distributes about 20,000 pounds of food each year to local individuals and families. It is supported and operated by members of five area churches and is primarily funded through donations by local residents, churches, businesses, civic groups and organizations. Marilyn Jordan, Director of the food shelf, expressed her appreciation to the league members for their generous contribution and ongoing support.
