Tai Aderounmu's third goal of the game helped Mekeel Christian Academy pull out a 4-3 victory over Middleburgh in Friday's Western Athletic Conference boys soccer game at Glenville's Maalwyck Park.
The Lions (7-3-0) tied the Knights three times before Aderounmu's final goal gave them the lead with less than 10 minutes left in the second half.
Kenny Aderounmu scored MCA's other goal, and TK Majekdounmi contributed a pair of assists for MCA, which remained in first place in the WAC South Division standings.
Scotia-Glenville overcame a sluggish start to defeat Gloversville 5-2 in Friday's Foothills Council girls soccer game in Scotia.
Gloversville struck first on Chanel Thomas' goal, but Silvana Giovannone's penalty kick with less than 10 minutes left in the first half tied the game for Scotia-Glenville. Max Culhane then knocked home a rebound off a missed shot early in the second half to give the Lady Tartans the lead for good.
Culhane and Giovannone each scored two goals, and Morgan Bailey added the other for Scotia-Glenville. Giovannone, Bailey, Rachael Cox and Megan McGillycuddy contributed assists.
Thomas tallied both Gloversville goals, and goaltender Alexis Capasso made 27 saves.
