The Shenendehowa boys soccer team earned another important Suburban Council North Division victory Tuesday by beating Ballston Spa 4-0 on the road.
Saamy Teymouri scored late in the first half to give the Plainsmen (2-0) a 1-0 halftime lead. Teymouri struck again midway through the second half, and Ricky Grable added a pair of goals a short time later to give Shen control over Ballston Spa (1-1).
Scotties goaltender Evan Mendez kept his team in the game with eight saves, but he faced near-constant pressure from the Shen attack. Plainsmen netminder Spencer Junco stopped all four shots he faced to earn the shutout.
In other Suburban Council North Division action Tuesday, Niskayuna edged Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 2-1, while Saratoga picked up its first victory of the season by beating Shaker 6-1 in Saratoga.
Michenzi Schenk scored early in the first half to give BH-BL (1-2) a 1-0 lead. Dylan Reilly tied the game at 1 late in the first half for Niskayuna, and Joe Repicky put the Silver Warriors ahead midway through the second half on a charge to the goal.
Saratoga's offense came to life against Shaker (1-1). Morgan Smith and Alex Cadet each had a goal and an assist for the Blue Streaks (1-2), while Shane Buchanan, Preston Rice, Liam Rice and Schuyler Lockwood added goals. Ryan Casserly tallied for the Blue Bison.
Saratoga goaltender Danny Marshall made eight saves to pick up the victory.
