The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake football team eased past South Glens Falls 52-0 in Thursday's Class A Northwest Division game in Burnt Hills.
The Spartans (5-1) broke the game open with 33 points in the second quarter, and the defense intercepted five South High passes to preserve the shutout.
Dan Porter and Eric Dillon each had big games for BH-BL. Porter rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns, while Dillon scored on a run, a pass reception and an interception return.
Quarterback Ryan McDonnell completed seven of his 10 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown, and Darian Jehle added 86 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Spartans.
BH-BL closes the regular season next weekend with a home game against Queensbury.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead on its way to a 5-1 victory over Guilderland in Thursday's Suburban Council girls soccer game in Burnt Hills.
Morgan Burchhardt, Skye Kaler and Megan Malone tallied in the first half to give the Lady Spartans their three-goal lead. Kaler and Malone struck again in the second half to seal the victory.
Malone finished with two goals and two assists to lead BH-BL, while Burchhardt added a pair of second-half assists to go with her first-half goal. Goaltenders Florie Comley and Holly Haner combined to make 11 saves.
Jessica Capone scored in the second half, and netminder Jenna Cubello stopped five shots for Guilderland.
In other Suburban Council girls soccer action, Bethlehem played Shaker to a 1-1 tie and Niskayuna doubled up Mohonasen 6-3.
All of the scoring in the Shaker-Bethlehem game happened in the first half. Stephanie Dootz scored off a Dana Donnelly pass for Bethlehem, while Stephani Church tallied for Shaker after receiving a pass from Emma Torncello.
Both goaltenders were sharp after that. Bethlehem's Katie Nickles made 10 saves, while Shaker's Jamie Durant stopped six shots.
Niskayuna got the drop on Mohonasen in its game. The Silver Warriors scored three times in the first half and responded whenever the Mighty Warriors scored in the second half to maintain their lead.
Meghan Doyle struck for four goals and added an assist to lead Niskayuna. Jenny Cascino contributed a goal and an assist, and Anka Parzych tallied the other Silver Warriors' goal.
Kelly O'Brien, Gabby Esposito and Samantha McGrath tallied Mohonasen's goals, and goaltender Alex Lucier made 15 saves in the face of heavy Niskayuna offensive pressure.
Shaker evened its Suburban Council record at 5-5 with Thursday's 3-0 victory over Bethlehem in Latham.
The Lady Eagles made the Blue Bison work for every point. Shaker won the first two games 25-21 and 25-20 before needing an extra point to edge Bethlehem 26-24 in the third game.
Mohonasen-Schalmont posted its first duel meet victory of the season by beating Schenectady 87-68 Thursday in Schenectady.
Natalie Ericson led Mohonasen-Schalmont with victories in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Allison Hutchins (200-yard freestyle), Rebecca Nelson (200-yard individual medley), Elyse Piseczny (diving) and Marisa Piccirillo (100-yard butterfly) also won individual events.
