Santa Claus will visit a variety of local maple farms, restaurants and fire departments this month.
WEST CHAZY | The big guy in red will land in the North Country this month.
Santa Claus will appear at six “Breakfast with Santa” events in West Chazy and Plattsburgh throughout the month of December.
He’ll also stop at a cookie-making party in the Village of Dannemora, and take a ride aboard a fire truck in the Village of Rouses Point.
WEST CHAZY
West Chazy’s Bechard’s Sugar House will kick off the holiday season with a “Breakfast with Santa” this Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The menu features a full spread: Eggs, sausage, hash browns, maple coffee, juice and pancakes with fresh maple syrup.
“It’s going to be buffet-style, and takeouts are available,” said Tammy Bechard, co-owner of Bechard’s Sugar House.
Face-painting by KitKat Design will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Santa Claus will be available for photos with children all day, Bechard said.
At the end of the event, each child will get a small Christmas gift from the sugar house, she said.
Tickets are $10 for kids aged 13 and up; $8 for ages 5-12 and free for children 4 years old and younger.
Christmas baskets, a variety of maple products and other holiday gifts will be available for purchase.
On Dec. 8-9, Guma’s Family Restaurant in West Chazy will also host two “Breakfast with Santa” events starting at 9 a.m. on both days.
Kriss Kringle will return to West Chazy again on Dec. 15-16, for the first-ever “Breakfast with Santa” at Parker Family Maple Farm, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The menu at Parker’s will include pancakes and maple syrup, sausage from D&D Meats, bacon and eggs.
Representatives from the Plattsburgh State Art Museum will be on-site to teach kids tricks to decorating Christmas cookies. Organizers will be collecting canned goods to donate to the local food bank.
Tickets will be $10.50 for adults and children ages 12 and up; $6 for kids ages 5-11 and free for children under 5.
Parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras to all of the events.
PLATTSBURGH, ROUSES POINT, DANNEMORA
Saint Nick will make an appearance in Plattsburgh on Dec. 9.
A pancake breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be held at Applebee’s, 8-10 a.m.
Tickets will cost $7 in advance, $10 at the door.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Plattsburgh Relay for Life.
The Rouses Point Fire Department will play host to Santa Claus on Dec. 8, noon to 3 p.m.
Local families will have the opportunity to ride along with Santa on the department’s fire trucks.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring their own cameras and dress warmly. Cookies and hot chocolate will be provided.
The Village of Dannemora Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting a “Cookies with Santa” event on Dec. 16, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kids will have the chance to take a picture with Santa Claus, eat some Christmas cookies and make some crafts.
