TICONDEROGA — On June 11, 52 golfers, including six students from the Ticonderoga High School’s golf team, met at the Ti Country Club to brave the rain and participate in the annual Kiwanis Scholarship Golf Tournament. The tournament was the culminating event of the program to raise money for the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund.
Through the club’s campaign to solicit sponsors from businesses and individuals for the tournament, over $20,000 was raised to provide scholarships to students from the Ticonderoga and Crown Point school districts. This year was highlighted by the generosity of several anonymous contributors.
Following the tournament dinner Chairman Graham Bailey welcomed all and thanked the participants, sponsors and Kiwanis members who made this year’s success possible. Superintendent, John McDonald, Jr. described the impact this annual tournament has had on the school districts and on the many individuals who have benefitted from the scholarships. Tournament prizes were awarded by Club pro, George Mackey.
