Lady Bobcats take on new look
ELLENBURG | The Northern Adirondack varsity basketball team will have a new look this season as they look to return to the Class C sectional finals.
“With Paige Chilton graduating, we will have a different look,” said first year head coach Dennis LaBarge.
“I am hoping to have several girls step up to do the scoring. We will have to work hard on the defensive end and share the ball on the offensive end. With a younger team, I expect there will be some struggles at times this season. Our number one goal is to work together to get better each game and eventually play well during sectionals.”
LaBarge said the focus in preseason has been on fundamentals.
“We are trying to improve individual skills and then work on team drills, trying to emphasize how important it is to work hard on basic fundamentals and also to have grit and character on the court.”
Members of the Lady Bobcats roster include seniors Emily Peryea and Grace Thume; juniors Kira LaBarge, Brynne Gilmore and Anna Brown; sophomores Emily Brooks and Aiden Lambert; and freshmen Alexis Belrose and Rhylee Poupore.
