Experienced Hornets seek B title
PLATTSBURGH | The Plattsburgh boys varsity basketball team will seek to return to the Class B sectional final game this season and come away with a victory, thanks to an experienced roster.
“We have four seniors with three years of varsity experience,” head coach Chris Hartmann said.
“After losing the sectional final, we are working hard to get back there this year. We expect to be competitive along with Saranac and Beekmantown. We have a tough non-league schedule to open up the season and hopefully prepare us for CVAC (Champlain Valley Athletic Conference) play.
“We have a group of athletes who moved up from the JV (junior varsity) level that will provide us with some speed and toughness.”
The Hornets roster includes seniors Andrew Follmer, Tyler Phillips, Jon Cliff, Zach Bieber and Bailey Pombrio; juniors Ian DeTulleo, Jaden Kalinowski, Dylan Garrant, Kurt Ouellette, Riley Channell and Andy Brown; and sophomore Liam Perkins.
Hornet bowlers look to improve record
PLATTSBURGH | The Plattsburgh High School bowling program will be under the direction of first year coach Cathy Whalen, who said the team will look to build in the new season.
“I am hoping to build for the future with some new bowlers and looking senior leadership from Jon Ashline and Ian Bova on the boys team and Sierra Hoistion and Emily Seymour on the girls team,” Whalen said.
Members of the Hornet boys bowling team include Jon Ashline, Ian Bova, Brenden Doherty, Daryn Grom-Davies, Mark Hager, Brendan Lee and Jacob Neal. Members of the girls roster include Teagan Benjamin, Aaliyah Davies-Garrow, Rachel Hilchey, Sierra Hoistoin and Emily Seymour.

Hornets seek finals return
PLATTSBURGH | The Plattsburgh varsity hockey team will seek a return to the sectional finals in a very tough CVAC (Champlain Valley Athletic Conference) hockey league.
Coached by James Reidy, the Hornet roster includes seniors Nate Boule and Joey Jamison; juniors Jalen Abellard, John Dublanyk, Greyson Giroux and Ben Keever; sophomores Clarke Brandt, Jake Dandrow and Ethan Kay; and freshmen Hunter Boadway, Ty Calkins, Thomas Carron, Hayden Colburn, Bostyn Duquette and Jackson Kain.

Lady Hornets seek to make playoff run
PLATTSBURGH | The Plattsburgh girls varsity basketball team will seek to get to the SUNY Plattsburgh Fieldhouse this season, meaning a trip to at least the Section VII/Class B semifinals.
“Our goal is to play a playoff game at the Fieldhouse,” said head coach Tom Lacey. “We are working really hard in practice to try to achieve our goals, especially shooting, passing and dribbling.”
The Lady Hornets roster includes Hannah Baker, Diauviaun O’Connell, Jasmine King, Abbi Crahan, Tenzin Pema, Jodi Murray, Elisa Megarr, Lacy Wright, Kennedi Lavalley and Catie Parker.

Lady Hornets return to the ice
PLATTSBURGH | The Plattsburgh girls varsity hockey team will seek to stay near the top of the Section VII hockey standings this season, as they vie for another trip to the finals.
The team is coached by Jamie Reidy, with roster members including seniors Abby Boule, Augusta Kramer and Taylor Hackett; sophomores Ava Julian, Taylor Heywood, Natalie Kay, Abbie Lebrun, Gillian Boule, Christina Maglione and Morgan Reid; freshmen Avery Holland, Ada Johnston, Reylyn Giroux, Reese Montville, Rebecah Courson and Amanda Vaughn; and eighth graders McKenzie Brown, Rachel Madore and Amelia Lebrun.
Hornets indoor seeks experience
PLATTSBURGH | The Hornets varsity indoor track and field team will seek to gain experience throughout the season as they seek to defend their sectional title.
“We have an extremely young and inexperienced team this year, I hope everyone will find an event to excel at,” said coach Vern Harrison.
“The goal is make the sport exciting and have these young athletes return next year. The preseason will be spent mostly building base mileage and introducing the newcomers to all events and getting them ready to jump high and run fast.”
